Unless you have a tiny little handbag sized pooch who is very well behaved, plane travel is out of the question and even heading to Europe means leaving them alone below deck in the car for hours on end.

Kingly Vale, an ancient Yew Forest is not to be missed and is only a short drive or easy walk from our site. The trees are thought to be over 500 years old and are awe-inspiring. Surrounded by bluebells in May, the site also boasts a Roman Burial Ground and views down across the Solent and the South Downs.
If your dog is a keen swimmer, take a trip down to The Witterings. The beautiful sandy beach stretches for miles and is sure to exhaust the most energetic of our four-legged friends. Dogs are allowed anywhere from October – April but are excluded from the beach between groynes 14a and 18 from May to September. Dog poo bags and bins are provided.
The Horse and Groom, our nearest pub, serving excellent food, is dog-friendly, as is The Fox and Hounds in the next village of Funtington. Why not pop into the Adsdean farm shop in Funtington and pick up some excellent, locally caught game for the BBQ as well as a pig’s ear or a little treat for your pet.
The fascinating Weald and Downland museum is a great day out for history lovers, telling the story of life in the south of England over a 950 year period. You are welcome to visit with your dogs who are welcome on a lead.
The beautiful gardens of West Dean are some of the best-restored examples of gardens open to the public in the UK. Its site says ? An impressive collection of working Victorian Glasshouses, a 300-foot pergola, a spring garden with flint bridges and the occasional surreal fiberglass tree offer year-round interest to garden visitors.? Dogs are welcome on a lead.
Stansted Park is a Listed stately home and estate in nearby Havant. Dogs are allowed in the 1000 acres of parkland on a lead.

Your dog can make use of a cosy sheepskin by the fire in your yurt, or perhaps have a cuddle with you in a hammock. One of our guests told us on Facebook ? My two dogs Daisy and Winnie, loved their holiday in the yurt last year, the only problem, I had to buy them a sheepskin rug each to sleep on when we got home as they?d got used to the luxury?
